Pop Goes The Camera

KayKay and I are looking into getting me a d-SLR. Did you know that that is actually the proper way to abbreviate digital single-lens reflex cameras? But bah! Everyone just goes DSLR anyway.

Because I don't have money to burn (I use it all to wipe backside ha-ha) and also because I don't want to splash out on a five-figure camera only to realize I'm just not that into it after all, entry level camera it is. Besides, the big ass ones like Canon EOS 5D Mark III would probably weigh even more than my schoolbag and KayKay would end up carrying it everywhere and that's just not fair.

Initially, I thought of just getting one of those semi-pro ones. Like ummm PowerShot. I do have a PowerShot, but it's pretty old cuz my dad got it when it first came out. I like how you can control almost EVERY single thing in the camera, but its range just isn't as broad as even the entry level DSLRs. Plus, you know, you can switch about the lenses for a DSLR.

So then we talked about getting the most basic of the basics, a Canon EOS 1000D (I think). Rm2,199. Then we decided that that's just too basic, and I would want a better camera not long after that. So we looked into the Canon EOS 450D which is slightly better, and also more expensive (naturally). Rm 2,799.

But then KayKay discovered the EOS 500D, which is more of less like the 500D, but with video recording capabilities. Price: Rm 3,113.

I see a pattern here. The price just keeps going up up up. Next thing I know, she'll be saying we should just skip ahead and get the Mark III (it goes for Rm 28, 999).
